Here are the results!

The Summer: No Comb Challenge 2016

The goal of this challenge is to continue to grow healthy hair and to retain the length grown over a 3 month period.

Pre-Set Theory

I am planning for longer, stronger, curly-defined, and healthy hair along with 1.5 inches in 3 months from SOLEY finger detangling - along with weekly rice water rinse and massaging my scalp.

Rules

Take a picture of weekly protective styles and do the weekly challenges.

My Journey

June 3rd to September 25(13 weeks) was the time frame.

My regimen was based on focusing on the health and strength of my hair, starting with not using combs and brushes. This would decrease the mechanical damage on my hair.

Upcoming Season and Hopes

A few months ago I experienced some crown breakage and had to re-evaluate my regimen. I'm still working on less stressful styles, adding more moisture and oils, and sectioning that part off separately. I see that my hair has become thicker in that area and is softer than it was. I will continue to focus on my crown hair to ensure maximum health.

My upcoming season will include: massaging my scalp at least 4xs weekly, rinsing with rice water, and implementing the Indian Oiling method for softer, shinier, and stronger hair.
