Product Review: Carols Daughter Almond Milk Ultra-Nourishing Hair Mask

I absolutely love the Carols Daughter Black Vanilla Line and I love my Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Hair Masque! However, since my hair is going through a bit of heat damage from my last flat iron experience, I thought I use the Almond Milk Line from Carols Daughter (and I couldn't find the Manuka Masque at the store *sad, but excited*).

Product Name:

Carols Daughter Almond Milk Ultra-Nourishing Hair Mask (Almond Milk Masque*)

Price and Size:

$14/12oz (Carol's Daughter)

Product Description:

We damage our hair daily—from flat-ironing it to exposing it to harsh environmental aggressors. So start reconstructing broken, over-processed strands with this rich nourishing mask that reverses damage from the inside out, so hair looks and feels softer and healthier for longer.

For Extremely Damaged, Over-Processed Hair

Package Instructions:

Massage gently into clean, wet hair, giving a little extra love to your frazzled ends. Leave the treatment mask on for 5 to 7 minutes and then rinse well.

TIP: For an extra-deep treatment, put on a shower cap and sit under a hood dryer for 10 to 15 minutes. This will help the nourishing ingredients get deep into your hair.

My Experience:

After washing my hair with Suave Clarifying Shampoo and rinsing my hair with Green Tea (for protein), I added the Almond Milk Masque to 5 sections of my hair, put my hair in twists, then put on a plastic cap. I sat under the dryer for 30 minutes, then allowed to cool for 5.

I rinsed my hair with cool water, then proceeded to add my Aloe Vera Juice and Hair And Body Oil For Fine, Natural Hair.

My Thoughts:

Smells Absolutely Yummy!
This masque has a scent of a vanilla milk shake, that just make you want to eat it. This aroma is just so relaxing and make you feel so good that the aroma everyone smells is coming from your hair.

Product Texture
This product is lighter in texture than other deep conditioners I have used before. This product does slide around the jar and will fall out if turned upside...this resembles the texture of an instant conditioner.

Awesome Detangling Experience
I didn't think this product would stay in my hair after seeing how light in texture is it...but when I added it to my hair, the slip was absolutely amazing! I was able to glide my fingers through my hair and the shed hairs just came flying out!

Moisture Love
When I was done with deep conditioning after 30 minutes, my hair was kinda soft and moisturized. I'm missing the AWESOME and SPECTACULAR feeling I would get with my Manuka Maque. So I was a little disappointed (and I've used this a few times).

Ingredients...Blah
I'm all for one and one for all when it comes to ingredients...and I was a bit disappointed with the product label. There were way too many silicones and other words I couldn't pronounce (and had to look up) for my preference. I did do a lot of research on it and saw others enjoyed this masque...but it just missed the mark with me.

I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! BUT I'M GOING BACK TO MY MANUKA MASQUE!

Natural hair says: it is best to know your hair before purchasing products without researching it. Make sure you learn your hair, check the product label, and read on reviews to determine if the product is worth purchasing. Never purchase on a whim.
