Product Review: Suave Naturals Daily Clarifying Shampoo

I have used ALAFFIA Authentic African Black Soap-Lavender Ylang Ylang, CURLS Creamy Curl Cleanser Sulfate-Free Shampoo, Herbal Essences Wild Naturals Rejuvenating Shampoo, Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Shampoo, and other shampoos over the years. I would always give them away because they either had a stripping feeling to them or I just didn't need shampoo and would use Rhassoul Clay OR Mud Wash or Apple Cider Vinegar to naturally cleanse my hair. But this is my first time actually using a clarifying shampoo1

Let's see how this works out...

Product Name:

Suave Naturals Daily Clarifying Shampoo

Price and Size:

Product Description:

Our pH-balanced deep-cleansing shampoo brings out the natural beauty of your hair and revitalizes it by removing residue without stripping moisture. And our fresh-scented, 100% oil-free conditioner replenishes your hair without building it up or weighing it down. The hypoallergenic shampoo formula has a longer-lasting fragrance, while the conditioner formula provides up to 2x more moisture.

Paraben free formula

Package Instructions:

Wet hair, lather, rinse, and repeat. For best results use with Suave Daily Clarifying Conditioner.  To achieve your favorite style, use Suave mousse or gel and finish with Suave hairspray.

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamide MEA, Ammonium Chloride, Fragrance (Parfum), Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate [Vitamin E Acetate], Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, PPG-9, Blue 1 (Cl 42090), Red 33 (Cl 17200).
Sodium Laureth Sulfate - (same detergent that cleans clothes and dishes...)
Cocamide MEA - (non-toxic, used to create lather and stabilize bubbles)
Ammonium Chloride - (salt uses for cleansing - drying and corrosive)

My Experience:

After my hot oil treatment, I rinsed my hair with warm water for a few minutes. As my hair is in 5 sections, I took a quarter size to cleanse my scalp of each section. I did not intentionally use the shampoo on my hair. I allowed the shampoo to remain on my scalp for a few minutes as I massaged to lift any product buildup. I rinsed my hair of the shampoo, allowing the suds to cleanse my hair. I continued with my washing regimen.

My Thoughts:

Clean, Clean, Clean!

...and that's basically all the shampoo did for my hair.

*sigh*

Although this shampoo is great for a clarifier, I would use this product maybe 3-4 times a year for a good cleanse. This shampoo does clean my scalp and hair of product buildup, however the product ingredients are atrocious! I had to look up each of these ingredients just to find out what was in this shampoo. I did not like what I saw.

I'll keep this in my hair arsenal, for now. But I recommend sulfate-free shampoos. This bargain of this clarifier is not worth it.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND
Natural hair says: it is best to know your hair before purchasing products without researching it. Make sure you learn your hair, check the product label, and read on reviews to determine if the product is worth purchasing. Never purchase on a whim.
