I want to do a product review for Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp and Tamanu Grow and Strengthen Treatment Masque. I did not see many reviews for this product, so I thought I give my own honest opinion...

Product Description:

For a tried-and-true deep conditioning experience, you'll adore this mask which contains monoi oil, a beauty secret from Tahiti, to intensely hydrate hair and prevent breakage.

Package Instructions:

After shampooing, work masque through damp hair from roots to ends. Cover hair with a plastic cap and apply moderate heat for up to 45 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. May also be used as a leave-in conditioner, styling aid or hairdressing. Masque is also effective as a pre-shampoo treatment - wet hair completely and distribute evenly throughout hair, leave on for 15 minute, then rinse and shampoo as usual.

My Experience:

I have used this deep conditioner for 3 months (Aug. '14 - Nov '14). I usually deep condition once a week (may change to twice a week for cooler seasons). I would use as a detangler before my Wash Day or after my Protein Treatment Aphogee 2 Min to put the moisture back in my hair.


I would deep condition for 45 minutes under my Conair hooded dryer, while watching a Disney movie (hey! I'm never too old for Cinderella or The Little Mermaid). Then I would go back in the shower and rinse my hair with cool (not cold) water, not too thoroughly. I leave some in for my leave-in moisturizer and detangling step. I would also use Indian Hemp for my pre poo treatment with JBCO for 30 minutes with moderate heat before washing or overnight.

My Own Thoughts:

Indian hemp is absolutely amazing! I definitely love it for the price, the perfume-like smell, and especially for my hair. It does exactly what it says and what it's supposed to do. My hair felt hydrated and the breakage was not that bad. I will say that it is light deep conditioner. I had to use boat loads on each section of my hair just so my hair would be saturated. I think I use an entire container in a month by deep conditioning once a week, so that's saying something right there.


I would rather use Indian Hemp as a pre poo, leave-in, or detangler than a deep conditioner. My hair is getting longer and thicker, so I'm gonna need a deep conditioner that can handle all the kinks and blinks and naps and finger-snaps of my tresses.

Natural hair says: Try this product if you are looking for a light deep conditioning treatment. If you don't have a conditioner, I suggest you try this one. You will be amazed at the results of using Indian Hemp.
