Product Review: Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curling Gel Soufflé

I wanted to try a few more curly styles and saw that this product was getting a bunch of raves. This product is also part of a great line. So what can go wrong?

My Experience:

I tried this product on a wash n go (shingle-method) and for a roller set, while my hair is damp from washing. I would allow my hair to air dry during the evening.

My Own Thoughts:

I will say that the product smells so good, like you want to eat it...but it is tough to figure out how much you would need for your style. It does resemble a runny type gel (like JBCO Edge Treatment), which makes it seem like you are using too little when you are actually using enough.

This product is so sticky, no matter how much product you use. I will say that "a little goes a long way." If you use too much, then your hair will be icky and slimy looking. For my wash n go, it dried really crispy and looked like it was suck in place. I really didn't like the look. For my roller set, the Souffle would take forever to dry and my hair would be stuck to the rollers.

Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curling Gel Soufflé Product Review
The entire experience was a disaster. I really wanted to like this product...but just like the JBCO Edge Treatment, my hair does not do well with any product with agave nectar.

I WOULD TRY THIS AGAIN ONE DAY, BUT BORROW IT FROM A FRIEND...I'M NOT PLANNING ON BUYING THIS AGAIN!

Have you tried the Soufflé? What did you think about it?
