My Experience:
After washing my hair with my organic Mud Wash, I parted my hair in 4 sections for manageability (hair was detangled).
With the first section, I added the JBCO Masque and made sure that I focused on the ends. Then I put my hair in a loose bantu knot.
I continued this along the rest of my hair, until my hair was full of JBCO Masque and 4 bantu knots.
I placed my plastic cap on my head and sat under my hooded dryer for an hour.
Once done, I rinsed the JBCO Masque completely out of my hair and moved on to adding my leave-in and planned for African Threading.

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow, and Restore Treatment Masque Product Review |
My Own Thoughts:
When I first opened the container at Target, I noticed that JBCO Masque had a "play-dough" type of smell...it did make my nose turn up from it. I absolutely despised the smell...but I decided to try it, since I saw all the raving reviews.
When using JBCO Masque, it did not have too much of a slip (not as much as the Yucca Masque) which I really want a deep conditioner to have. Now it is creamy, but it was too runny to grasp onto. This really should have been in a pump bottle instead of a container.
Once I rinsed the JBCO Masque from my hair, I noticed that my hair did not feel moisturized at all. My hair felt stringy and was really tangled after using it. It was even tough to style my hair. I did not change anything from my hair regimen other than using this Masque. So I think it's the culprit...
I'm also a big stickler on ingredients and I did not like the line up on the product label. If I'm going to purchase something based on advertising or the featured ingredient, I would like to at least see it in the 5 ingredients. Castor Oil was in the middle of the product label. That kind of made me sad and disappointed.
With all of this said...
I DON'T PLAN ON USING OR PURCHASING THIS MASQUE AGAIN!!!
Have you tried JBCO Masque? What did you think about it?

* Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow, and Restore Treatment Masque was purchased with my own money and the review is my honest opinion.
Wow! Too bad it didn't work for you. I actually like this masque for my thick hair. I don't like the smell though. Great review
ReplyDeleteLOL. I am not laughing that it didn't work out for you but at the very bold and big " I don't plan on using or purchasing this masque again". Sorry to hear that it isn't a product for you but at least you tried and found out right :)
ReplyDeleteI really wanted it to work for me too :( Kinda sad about that. But I know when something just does not work to not force it. Glad you like it though!
ReplyDeleteLol girl! I wish it did work for me, but my hair knows when something just does not cut it. I really wanted it to work too. But back to my regular deep conditioner
ReplyDeleteYea I don't like the product either. And the label is ridiculous. I love the raw Shea butter masque tho. You should try that.
ReplyDeleteYes I was a little sad, but I'm not bashing the product. It's just how it didn't work for my hair. I will try the raw shea butter masque next. Thanks!
