How To | Heatless Method To Stretch Hair With Jumbo Rollers

Heatless Method To Stretch Hair With Jumbo Rollers
I have found that stretching my coils for styling is the best part of my regimen. I think it is great for my fine textured hair, so my hair won't get tangled and I can style my hair easily with no fuss. I usually use the African Threading Method to stretch my hair, but I thought I try using jumbo rollers to stretch my hair this time (for more body and bounce in my curls).

Stretching My Hair With Rollers

Products Used:

ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer
Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in
Creme of Nature with Argan Oil Style Mousse
Chi Silk Infusion
Jumbo Rollers
Roller clips
Denman brush (optional: for detangling and smoothing)
Fine tooth comb (optional: for parting)

The Process

***crazy shrinkage!!!!***

While on damp hair, I spray the Aphogee Green Tea throughout my hair.
Then I used the Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in and carefully detangled my hair with my fingers (Denman brush, if needed).
I did 6 jumbo two strand twists to keep my hair detangled and out of the way.

I parted the two strand twist the length of the rollers, with fine tooth comb
I added Crème of Nature Argan Oil Mousse to set for my hair to each section
Once I had a head full of rollers, I air-dried for a few hours (4-5 hours)

I removed the rollers carefully to not snag my hair
Added a bit of Chi Silk Infusion to smooth hair
Continued to style my hair

I absolutely love it!
***use Maybelline Eye Color Tattoo for gold hair shadowing***

I decided to stretch my hair with jumbo rollers so my hair could have some body and bounce for my curls. I really do like the turn out!

How do you stretch your hair?

Natural hair says: you do not have to use heat to stretch your hair. Use a heatless way to stretch your hair like African Threading or Bands N Twists. This is healthier for your mane.

  1. I love it! Your hair turned out fantastic :D

  2. Awe thanks a bunch Maicurls! I'm learning more roller and curly styles and thought I give this technique a try :)

  3. Well it turned out great! I can't seem to find large rollers like that around me not even in the beauty supply store! I think I need to look a little harder because I need to experiment more with styles too. I always do what I know....getting a little bored with that.

  4. For sure! I would love to see your hair in a roller set :) I don't wear my hair down often, but I'm trying new things with roller sets and to learn my hair more. Hopefully you can find some! I would love to see the end result. Thanks again!!!
