Crochet Braids | Braiding Pattern For Crochet Senegalese Twists

My weapon of choice...the crochet needle

Time to change things up with Crochet Senegalese Twists!!

I'm absolutely ready to do Senegalese Twists again...however! 1). I'm not paying $180+ and sitting in a chair for 10+ hours and 2). I'm doing them myself! Now when I say myself, I mean the easy and cost effective way out. Crochet braids of course!

I have done these before with FreeTress PreTwisted Hair. But I thought I try something different this time by using:  Janet Collection Noir TANTALIZING TWIST BRAID

Prepping The Hair

It is very important to prep your hair for long-term styling effectively and the correct way. This time I used:
Hot oil treatment - Coconut Oil and JBCO, 30 minutes with heat
Clarify - Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo
Protein -  Green Tea
Deep conditioning - Shea Moisture Organic Yucca and Plantain Anti-Breakage Masque
Leave In - Shea Moisture Yucca And Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Styling Milk
Oils Coffee Infused Oil
Crème - Shea Butter Crème

Stretching: African Threading Method

I did the African Threading Method overnight to stretch my hair. I love this method because my hair dries, but still has moisture (unlike a dryer) and it is easier on my hair (than using heat).

Braiding Pattern For Crochet Senegalese Twists With Perimeter

This is my braiding pattern for crochet Senegalese twist with my front perimeter out. I'm going to do single Senegalese there, in order to make it look like I went to get my hair done.

Also, I did two cornrows on the bottom of my head horizontal, so when I put my hair up in a ponytail it would look natural. Plus, I'm not that great at braiding/twisting the back of my hair.

Natural hair says: if you are looking for a quick style, try crochet braids. Whether you want a short style, fun braids, or long curls, crochet braids will be the perfect protective style for your own hair.
