Crochet Senegalese Twists Mohawk |
I absolutely love this style! I loved how it looked on my sister, Aletha (edgy and classy all in one) and I even like the braiding pattern I did for my baby sister, Jeanette (with her style in a ponytail). So naturally...I'M JEALOUS!!
So here I am about to do crochet Senegalese twists into a Mohawk!
Hair, Color, And Packs
From the local beauty supply store, I decided to get:
Brand: DO ME LOME
Brand: DO ME LOME

Prepping The Hair
It is very important to prep your hair for long-term styling effectively and the correct way. This time I used:
Massage/Detangle/Pre Poo -Coffee Oil And Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner
Clarify - ALAFFIA Authentic African Black Soap-Lavender Ylang Ylang
Protein - ApHogee Intensive Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor and Green Tea Rinse
Deep conditioning - Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Masque

Leave In - Cantu Shea Butter Leave In and ApHogee Pro-Vitamin Leave-In
Oil - Hair And Body Oil
Stretch - African Threading
Braiding Pattern
I started by sectioning my hair in 3 sections (left, right, and middle) The left and the right sides will be flat twisted horizontally that looks like a Mohawk. I twisted the sides first, then created one big braid in the middle.
Crochet Process
Before I crocheted the Senegalese twists in, I boiled each of the packs to make sure that the twists are sleek and completely sealed. Once the hair was cooled and dry, I crocheted the twists into the middle of the cornrows. 3 packs was enough to create a full style.![]() |
