Quarterly Natural Hair Advancement | March 2016 and June 2016

I have learned to love my hair, no matter what stage She is in!

*THIS IS A LONG ENTRY*

I decided to let you experience one of the things I do in my Hair Diary! Although I record my triumphs, failures, double failures, and awesome product reviews, I also do something called the "Quarterly Natural Hair Advancement (QNHA)." This entry reflects on the last 3 months comparing with the previous QNHA while giving a summary in one whole journal entry.

There are a lot of comparisons with lengths, regimens, goals, habits, and hair styles. I also include pictures to show that I have either improved or that I need to improve in a specific area. I started this back in June 2013 and I do the QNHA at the end of the months: March, June, September, and December. Yes, I am very intricate with my Hair Diary...but this helps me perfect my current regimen, helps me with future styling options, reminds me of my hair goals, and just fun to do!

FEW CHANGES TO REGIMEN

Sacha Inchi
I am switching the CURLS line for Sacha Inchi line. I purchased the Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil Omega-3-6-9 Rescue + Repair Curl Defining Smoothie and Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Rescue + Repair Twist + Lock Gel from Ulta-online and I definitely love them. Both the smoothie and the gel work perfectly for my hair. I absolutely love the fresh, perfume scents of the products. The smoothie is very light like the Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, but better slip and absolutely moisturizes my hair right on the spot. The gel is like Flaxseed Gel, but not as goopy. The products worked well on dry hair. As the days went along, I noticed less and less breakage and shed hair. I didn't have dry ends and my hair was really soft for real!

Aloe Vera Gel - Lily of the Desert
I absolutely love Aloe Vera Gel! I didn't think that this would be good for me to have for my regimen, but I last used it as a styler and it is light enough to use as a leave in. This is also a great detangler (especially for my wash n gos) and it gives my hair a nice slip as well. I'm gonna keep this in my regimen for sure! I purchased this from Vitamin Shopped, the natural kind and not fruit of the earth.

I have added Rice Water Henna Gloss, and Indian Oiling. I will give updates on how each have benefitted my hair.

STYLES

GOALS MET FROM MARCH 2016

From Quarterly Natural Hair Advancement | December 2015 And March 2016 my short-term goals were to do short/long term protective styles, hot oil treatments, finger detangle, and massage scalp with oil 4x/weekly I have exceeded at protective styles, finger detangling, and massaging my scalp regularly. Instead of hot oil treatments, I pre-poo with Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner.

From Quarterly Natural Hair Advancement | September And December 2015, my mid-term goals were to maintain healthy hair, do the 'search and destroy' dusting when needed, and have a few YouTube videos. have exceeded in caring for and maintaining my hair to be healthy and I have kept my ends trimmed. However, I have yet to do any YouTube videos...so that would definitely be a goal of mine for the end of the year.

PERSONAL GOALS

My short term goals for next 3 months: no comb challenge, co-wash hair weekly, rice water rinse weekly, shampoo once/month, do henna gloss treatment, finger detangle, weekly styles, and massage scalp with oil 4x/weekly
-
My mid-term goals for December 2016: do more weekly protective styles, maintain the same regimen and products usage, try new styling options, have at least 3 YouTube Videos.

-
My yearly goals for December 2016 are: NO BUYING NEW PRODUCTS (no more product junkie!), short/long term protective styles (to retain length!), and reach BSL (with health comes length!).

-
My ultimate goal is: to reach waist length and HUGE volume by December 2018!

Natural hair says: you may think this is intricate, complex, and just too much...but this keeps me on track for my hair goals and habits. Try it for yourself after your three month mark.
