The Fall: Back To The Basics | Treatment Mode Challenge 2016
The goal of this challenge is to continue to grow healthy hair and to retain the length grown over a 3 month period.
Pre-Set Theory
I am planning for longer, stronger, curly-defined, and healthy hair along with 1.5 inches in 3 months by going back to the basics of weekly:
- Pre Poo - use coffee oil overnight before washing/massage with JBCO 3-5 times/weekly
- Protein and DC treatments - use both weekly
- AVJ and Hair And Body Oil - weekly after washing
- Protective Styling - 5 days IN/2 days OUT (long-term if needed)
- Healthy Diet - strict diet of water, fruits/veggies, and exercise
Rules
Take a picture of weekly protective styles and do the weekly challenges.
My Journey
October 2 to December 25(13 weeks) was the time frame.

Upcoming Season and Hopes
My crown breakage has gotten much better and I'm not as sensitive in the crown area. I'm still working on less stressful styles, adding more moisture and oils, and sectioning that part off separately. I see that my hair has become thicker in that area and is softer than it was. I will continue to focus on my crown hair to ensure maximum health.
My upcoming season will continue with the BACK TO THE BASICS theme, focusing on the healthy diet.
