 "Babe, what's that green stuff in your smoothie maker?? - "That's just my deep conditioner, honey!"

Avocados are definitely a superfruit with a great helping of omega-3, vitamin A, D, E, and B6 with other minerals. But what about trying this superfruit as a deep conditioner for hair? I have always wanted to try using avocado as a natural deep conditioner.  Let's see if my hair loves it...

What is an avocado?

This pear-shaped or egg-shaped fruit is a large berry that contains a large single sed in the center called a 'pit.' They are full of great vitamins, minerals, protein, and potassium for health.

Benefits of avocado for hair:

MoisturizesWhen hair is dry and damaged, the avocado can give the boost of moisture it needs to be juicy again. The vitamins in the avocado are able to penetrate the hair shaft and nourish the hair where there may have been damage prior.  Promotes Hair GrowthWhen there is nutritional deficiency, this will cause the hair to break and even seem like your hair is growing 'slow.' With the use of avocado, your hair will be fueled with the awesome amount of vitamins and minerals to protect the hair from breakage as well as retain the length of hair grown. Shiny HairWith the abundance of moisture and great nourishment from the avocado brings shiny hair. Your hair will have a beautiful sheen to it, especially in the sun! With this shine, your hair will look super healthy. No more dull and lifeless hair!

Avocado Recipe For Natural Hair Growth
1 ripe avocado
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey.

My Experience:

I pre poo'd and shampooed my hair like normal. Then I added the silkly smooth avocado mixture to my own hair, just like deep conditioner. I made sure my hair was completely covered.

After I put my hair in 4 sections with hair clips, I put a plastic cap on my hair. Then I sat under the hair dryer for 30 minute for heat. After that, I let the avocado mixture sit on my hair for an hour without heat. I left this mixture on my hair for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to penetrate my hair strands.
Once my hair received the avocado benefits, I rinsed my hair in cool water.

I added my leave-in, oil, and styler to my hair before allowing to dry.

My Thoughts:

I was a bit nervous to use this avocado mix to the point that I researched the benefits, recipes, and the aftermath of use just to make sure I am using the avocado the right way. I will say that I absolutely love what the avocado did for my hair with promoting softness, moisture, no breakage, and shine.
I will definitely use this recipe at least once every few weeks to really rack up the benefits of the avocado. If the avocado is great for the body, then this would definitely be a great addition for my healthy hair regimen.
