Hair Tips | You Say Your Hair Is Not Growing?

My 6th Year Nappyversary | Fine Natural Hair Growth In A Year

"I should I never trimmed my hair" "My kind of hair just won't grow!" "That girl just cut her hair last year and now it's waist length...what's wrong with my hair?!"

Since it's coming up to the end of 2018, I decided to look at some pictures and compare them with earlier pictures. I was absolutely amazed at what I saw...

Since my 3rd big chop back in September 2017, I was determined to really do my best at growing and retaining the length of my hair. I wanted to really focus on healthy eating and exercise to grow the healthiest hair possible and have a great hair regimen to retain my healthy hair.

I will say now that I am very proud of myself for growing and retaining healthy hair this year of 2018!

Hair Tips | You Say Your Hair Is Not Growing?

So when you feel your hair does not grow, try these 3 tips:

Keep A Hair Dairy

How are you going to know your progress if you don't keep pictures and/or descriptions of styles, products, and regimens you used? You can't! It is so important to track your progress in your growth and retention. You can update your journal
every week, once a month, every four months, or all of the above. When you track your progress, mistakes, growth, and failures, you have a guide to help you in what you need to do for next time.

When you see your own progress in your pictures, that's all the inspiration you really need to continue on your journey. Here are examples of my hair diary entries:

Keep A Healthy Diet And Lifestyle
First of all, a healthy diet and lifestyle is for your own personal benefit. Drinking 8+ cups of water, eating fruits and veggies, and getting 8+ hours of sleep and rest is very important to your health. The more you do this and reduce stress, the more more you will keep the hair you grow on your head. Of course, hair grows. However, you want to be certain that if you are on a healthy hair journey, you want to grow the healthiest hair possible.
Hair Tips | You Say Your Hair Is Not Growing?

Your hair is mostlymade of protein...your hair needs that to thrive! Drink your water, eat your vegetables, exercise at least 3 times a week. Remember to stay healthy and strive to be in the best you can be! Your body is a temple, which is sacred. Treat your body like the temple it is, just like you treat your hair like the silk she is.

Keep A Healthy Hair Regimen
You must have a hair regimen to help discipline yourself and the way to treat your hair. A healthy hair regimen consists of: shampoo, condition, leave-in, seal, style. You can add other steps if you like, but those are the basics for a healthy hair regimen.

Also, try hair challenges. You can try the castor oil challenge or no-heat challenge. That will help you stay on a consistent regimen and will also push you towards healthy hair as well.
