Weave Tips | Enhance Natural Hair With Ponydo Motown Curlable

How To | Enhance Natural Hair With A New Afro Drawstring
Since my last drawstring Afro article, my actual drawsting Afro was getting a bit dry and the curls were becoming tangled...

For Black History Month 2019, I wanted to go all out with my hair! I decided to purchase TWO drawstring Afro puffs to have a full head of hair. And since I was going to do an African dance with the Christ Temple Women's Dance Ministry, I wanted to make sure my hair was ready for morning worship.

Let's Get To Dancing!

Prepping Your Natural Hair

1). Make sure you have: moisturizer, sealant (oil or cream), edge tamer, ponytail holder, and bobby pins to help set your hair.

2). Start off with wash, conditioned, and stretched hair. Detangle, moisturize, and seal your hair with an oil or cream. This will ensure that your own hair is well cared for while wearing the puff.

3). Determine where you want to where your puff. Either brush or use your hands to position your hair where you want it. Use your edge tamer to help sleek your hair into put your hair in the ponytail holder. I decided to flat twist my hair to make it more into a protective style.

4). Make sure to not wrap your hair so tightly...instead wrap loose and bobby pin the ponytail holder to your head. It will be snug and not tight. Put your hair in a bun or two strand twists then put into a bun.

Putting On The Faux Afro Puff

When you are ready to add your faux hair, make sure to be very gentle while placing it on your hair:

1). Add the faux hair onto your bun/bantu knot and pull the draw string to help secure it onto your hair.

2). Use as many bobby pins it takes to help the faux hair to keep secure!!!

Natural hair says: when you want to give your hair a break or you want to try something new, you don't have to commit to a long-term style. Try a drawstring ponytail! There are so many to choose from and you can try as many styles as you want without damaging your own hair!
